Combining Fashion and Compassion

Life's challenges sometimes encourage you to take a new path.
This was definitely the case for Tracey Fogle, owner of Tracey's Boutique. While Tracey witnessed both family and friends struggle with breast cancer, she realized that there was a need in the local area for more services and mastectomy products for those facing this disease.

Armed with a love of fashion and a strong compassion for women who struggled with breast cancer, she opened Tracey's Mastectomy Boutique in 2015 as an expansion of her long-standing Merle Norman Cosmetics franchise. "I like fashion and making women feel good, so it just seemed like a nice progression" Tracey explained.

Tracey knows that women facing life-threatening breast cancer must also cope with self-esteem and body image issues which makes it difficult for them to venture out in the public. Because of that Tracey has equipped her boutique to include elegant and spacious fitting rooms and the women who seeks her help, will get private, personalized fitting assistance for all products.

"I want women to feel feminine," Tracey says. "Many feel like they loose that in cancer and I want to give them that back."

Sheri, Onda, Tracey and Olivia are all happy to help you find the perfect wig, clothing item, or skin care product that meets your unique need. Tracey recommends that you plan on spending an hour at the boutique to complete insurance paperwork and to undergo the fittings. Call ahead to schedule an appointment.

Tracey's Passion Goes Beyond the Fitting Rooms

Tracey is a Certified Mastectomy Fitter with over 500 hours of specialized training completed. She is one of the few mastectomy fitters in the area, so she regularly volunteers to help with fittings at the Dorcy Cancer Center, located in the St. Mary-Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo.

Tracey also realized when working with her clients that there was another important need for these women, and she was inspired to create a solution. During fittings, many women shared with Tracey that they could not afford to pay the insurance co-payments to receive the prosthesis and bras that they needed. Tracey then created the Rosa Fund, named in honor of a beloved client, to help women in this situation.

Tracey also participates in Colorado Springs' annual Cowgirls and Cocktails, which is usually held in the summer. Cowgirls and Cocktails is a COlorado Springs volunteer committee and grassroots effort that raises funds to help those facing breast cancer. This organization uses the collected funds to provide people in the community with transportation, meals, wigs, camisoles not covered by insurance, mammograms and much more. The organization is under the umbrella of Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo Foundation.

This volunteer-led organization dedicates hundreds of hours each year to their fund raising event Cowgirls & Cocktails. Through ticket sales, vendor booths, live auctions, and generous sponsors, this organization has raised over $500,000 to help women in the Colorado Springs area.

"I had such an amazing experience with Tracey and the staff at Tracey’s boutique. I was treated with care and patience the entire appointment. Tracey really knows how to make someone feel comfortable for a fitting. It was a hard enough experience to go through and I really appreciate the warm experience. Thank you!!!"
